Welcome to The Golden Pheasant, a traditional 18th-century Cotswold stone inn located on the High Street in the heart of Burford. Here, you’ll find a warm and inviting atmosphere, where both locals and visitors are made to feel at home. Our restaurant and bar offer a vibrant setting for enjoying hearty, freshly prepared meals and a selection of cask ales, local cider, continental lagers and a carefully chosen selection of wines.

Our Menu

We take great care to ensure as much of the produce we use is supplied locally. Our meats and game come from local farms and shoots, while many of our vegetables and fruit are sourced from Cricklade, a local town nearby. Fish and shellfish are supplied by local day boats out of either Brixham or the Cornish ports. Our menus are short, seasonal and locally sourced. We also offer a number of daily specials reflecting the best of our local suppliers.

We try and cater for as many dietary requirements as possible so vegan and vegetarian dishes are always available, in addition to gluten free options.

The Bar

We offer a selection of cask ales, continental lagers, stouts and cider. We have a small curated wine list, featuring independent wineries and we serve 10 wines by the glass. Our selection of Cocktails has gained a strong reputation and our Strawberry Daiquiri’s are legendary.

We have a comprehensive range of soft drinks and non-alcoholic beers/ciders and stouts. Don’t forget you can choose from a wide range of olives, nuts, crisps, pork scratching’s and snacks to accompany your drink.

In winter our log fire is lit and mulled wine is served to warm you up and in summer months our flower filled courtyard offers shade and is the perfect location for an ice cold beer and snack. Whatever you fancy our friendly team are here to make you feel right at home.

From start to end of our visit the team were excellent. Great welcome from manager who enabled us to book in early. Local information given without prompting which was very much appreciated and needed. Bedroom clean and tidy. It’s in a prime location and close to where you want to go. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfy.. not my type of pillows but they were ok. The man who greeted us was very polite and even let me park my car on site if there was room which there was. He did offer to take us too the farmers dog as taxis are very expensive and 20 mins away but I chose to drive..are planning to go back too Burford in a week and would definitely stay there again

Lovely room, the bath in the corner is a lovely touch. Very comfortable and clean. Great location, in the hight street but the room was in the courtyard at rear so no traffic noise.

Popped in Saturday afternoon, managed to get a table for four. Greeted with a smile, ordered drinks from the bar, couple of lovely pulled pints of Timothy Taylors. Food was really nice, burgers were superb, as was the rest of our dishes. Brillant Service.
